Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya’s son and office manager killed in Israel’s Doha attack

Date:

Hamas confirmed on Tuesday that its leadership has survived Israeli air strikes in the Qatari capital Doha, but five members of its delegation were killed, including the son of senior leader Khalil al-Hayya.

Hammam al-Hayya, son of the longtime Hamas official, and Jihad Lubbad, who served as Khalil al-Hayya’s office manager, have been killed.

The group also named Abdullah Abdul Wahid Abu Khalil, Mo’men Hassouna Abu Omar, and Ahmad Abdel Malik Abu Malik as associates who were killed in the attack, while several others were wounded.

Khalil al-Hayya, Khaled Meshal, Zaher Jabarin and other senior Hamas officials survived the attack. They were meeting to discuss the latest US ceasefire proposal for Gaza, presented to Hamas in recent days.

Countries including Pakistan, the UAE and Turkey have condemned the attack carried out by Israel against the Hamas negotiation delegation in the Qatari capital, calling it an act of aggression and a brazen violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Qatar.
